You’re going to be impressed with this wedding right from the outset. Not only does it a feature a bride who had recently completed the London marathon in under three hours (a phenomenal achievement), but also the world record for the highest number of people in a hotel room while a bride is getting ready. 16 in total, including me. I resorted to standing on the bed.
I’m not sure whether I was more inspired by Shona’s running prowess, or her ability to calmly get ready while surrounded by an ongoing family reunion.
The wedding took place in the magnificent Mitchell Library. After the ceremony we skipped off to the Botanic Gardens for a few photographs, before heading to the reception at Cottiers; a theatre converted church. A true celebration of all things great about Glasgow.
A few other things this wedding had by the bucket load (in no particular order); hugs, emotion, wonderful facial expressions (courtesy of Derek), joy, intimate family moments, amazing dancing and lots and lots of laughs. Exactly what a wedding should be about if you ask me.
