I need to start this blog post by saying that you couldn’t hope to meet a more lovely couple than Laurie and Stuart. I’m so lucky that lots of my clients feel like old friends to me, people that you really want to hang out with and share a bottle of wine. These two definitely fall into that category.
I was already a little bit in love with them before I went to Stuart’s parents house and then I wanted to move in and become an official member of the family. Not one but two pianos and a beautiful kitchen with a massive family table slap bang in the middle of it. Exactly how I always imagined my home to be (which has instead got an exercise bike in the dining room and the nearest I get to being able to tinkle the ivories is playing my daughter’s Doc McStuffin keyboard, not quite the same).
Anyway, I digress. I started the day photographing Laurie and her maids getting ready before I nipped off to catch up with Stuart (drinking his mum’s homemade soup), then back to Laurie for the final touches. It was a beautiful early autumn day with barely a cloud in the sky.
The wedding and reception took place at Arta; an atmospheric, candle lit venue in the heart of the Merchant City. The ceremony was intimate, romantic and full of humour which pretty much set the scene for the rest of the day. I especially loved the appearance of a whole bunch of colourful shades, I think more weddings should feature funky sunglasses.
Big congratulations to Laurie and Stuart, I’m sure you’re going to have a wonderful future together.
