It’s pretty hard to describe the beauty of Loch Lomond. I can’t possibly compete with the likes of Sir Walter Scott and William Wordsworth (obviously!) so I’m simply going to say that the light is AMAZING. It has a really magical quality which I’ve yet to experience anywhere else. It even renders rain beautiful (which is just as well because we had a fair amount to deal with on Mellissa and Steven’s wedding day). And if you’re really lucky you might even be blessed with a rainbow over the water. Never mind a lucky sixpence in your shoe, that’s got to be a good wedding day omen.
You’ll be relieved to know that I didn’t just get excited about the light at Mellissa and Steven’s wedding. I loved the beautiful autumn colours in their flowers and the way Mellissa hung their handfasting ribbon from her bouquet. I think the confetti throwing was amongst the best I’ve ever seen, and I was totally taken by the couple’s gorgeous niece Zoey. As ever though, I was most excited about being able to hang out with two really lovely people on their wedding day.
