If you ever needed proof that rain on your wedding day does not spell disaster then this is the post for you.
Becki and Andrew got married in September on one seriously wet day. The sort of day when you wake up and it’s raining and it just doesn’t let up until it’s dark. The sort of day when the rain is not just gently drizzling down but bouncing off the pavement. Did it bother these two delightful souls one bit? It did not. Did it stop the couple and their guests from celebrating like there was no tomorrow? Uh-uh. And did it mean we couldn’t take any photos outside making the most of the amazing Loch Lomond scenery? No way!
I don’t think anyone would really wish to have rain on their wedding day but getting married in Scotland there’s a reasonably high chance you’re going to see some of the wet stuff at some point. The key thing is to be prepared, accept that your dress might get a bit mucky (or mocket as Becki would say) and embrace the day as it is. I don’t know about you, but I personally think Loch Lomond looks pretty damn beautiful framed by dramatic threatening skies. The perfect setting for a gorgeous couple to bounce around on a rickety jetty in what felt like a force 10 gale!
Huge thanks to Becki and Andrew for letting me share in your rainy wedding day. Your determination to not be deterred by the weather was inspirational and I’m certain that your wedding is proof that rain on your wedding day does mean good luck.
